Do not adjust your computer screen - you are correct - he is definitely not a Cardigan.
The newest addition to the Fernbriar crew is a whippet - a very striking young man from our friends Julie Prentice (Vintage) & Shelley Kruger (Fanfare). This was Julie's first whippet litter, & a beautiful litter throughout. Mackenzie is so pleased that they were willing to let her take on this very promising boy.

Why a whippet? We have been asked that a lot.... some days I ask myself the same question.... We have made a lot of great friends amongst the "whippet people", as we affectionately call them, over the years because we are friends of Julie's. We have spent many an enjoyable dog show weekend &/or evening out with them, & they welcomed us into the group even though we weren't "whippet people" ourselves. When Julie's litter came along, & Mac saw how stunning the boys were (the girls, too), it just seemed to make sense. With Mac no longer competing in Jrs, she was totally ready to take on another breed as "her own". And she has a whole host of excellent mentors already in place.

Tonic made his show ring debut at the Granite City KC shows in St Cloud, MN in Dec 2011. On Saturday, judge Dr Robert Indeglia gave him WD for his first point, then went on to award him Best of Winners for the 3 pt crossover major. On Sunday, under judge William Cunningham, he again was WD for a pt, & then went on to be BOW for 2 pts. A very exciting way to start off a show career!!
