Not a Bad Show Career... Just like his mother, Ditto's road to his CH spanned roughly 9 months from start to finish - he even finished his CH at the same show where she earned hers 3 years earlier: Ditto made his show debut at the Cardigan Supported entry at the Des Moines Kennel Club shows in Sept. He took Reserve Winner's Dog to the 4 pt major, & received some nice comments from Judge Monica Canestrini. Ditto earned his very first points - a 4-point major - by going Winner's Dog under judge Don Rogers at the Minneapolis Kennel Club shows in November - & went on to be named Best of Winners. Then at the St. Cloud show in December he did it again, earning 1 more point as Winner's Dog under judge Bev Capstick - & Best of Winners. Continuing with his pattern, Ditto was named Best of Winners over sister Georgie at the Terre Haute, IN show under judge Eric Ringle, earning another point for himself. At the Badger/Beloit KC shows in Jefferson, WI, Ditto was named Best Bred-By Cardigan, earning himself another chance to have a little fun in the ring by competing with the Bred-by Herding Group. & finally, his big finish at the Summer Solstice Cluster, under judges Bettie Krause, Virginia Lyne, Max Magder, & George Vukich.

We are so very proud to announce Fernbriar's first Bred-By Champion. Ditto finished his CH in amazing style at the 2008 Summer Solstice Cluster in Cambridge, MN. He started the weekend with 6 points & by Sunday had earned 10 more, going Winner's Dog all 4 days, including two 3-point majors. He also earned Best of Winners 3 of the 4 days & was named Best Bred-By Cardigan. Ditto finished completely from the Bred-by class, handled by both Diana & Mackenzie. This earned him an invite to compete at the 2008 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, as well as being eligible to attend in 2009 & 2010.

Ditto was the pick puppy from Berry's first litter. He inherited his mother's sweet disposition & his father's ears! Best of all, he is a pretty good copy of his grandpa Handsome, in more ways than one. We look forward to the promising future this boy has as a representative of Fernbriar Cardigans. He will be shown on a limited basis as a special, as well as begin his training as an agility dog.

Is it any wonder that we sometimes call him Captain Joy? If you're ever having a bad day, you just need to spend a little time with Ditto. One look into those beautiful brown eyes, along with his ever-happy attitude, & all of the days problems just seem to melt away...
