Boogie, from our June 08 litter by Webster & Berry, inherited some of the best traits from both of his parents, including their supremely sweet temperaments. Even though we knew we needed a nice girl from this litter, we just couldn't let this beautiful boy slip away.

During his show career, Boogie was named Best Bred-by Cardigan at 3 separate shows, & earned Bred-by Group placings at 2 of them: Indianhead KC, Eau Claire, WI - Best Bred-by & Group 4 Waterloo KC, Waterloo, IA - Best Bred-by & Group 3 Anoka-Cambridge shows, Anoka, MN - Best Bred-by Cardigan, making it the 2nd year in a row for a Fernbriar boy.
Another Bred-by Champion for Fernbriar! at the Key City KC shows in May 2009. at the Key City KC shows in May 2009. Boogie was handled almost exclusively by Mackenzie & finished entirely from the Bred-by classes, which will also earn him an invitation to the Eukanuba National Championship in 2010.
Boogie also stepped into a career as Mackenzie's Juniors dog, allowing his grandpa Handsome a much-deserved retirement. The time & training he & Mac put in, including time in the breed ring, truly paid off & they were a great, & successful, team in both rings..

Way to Go Mac & Boogie!! The dynamic duo started 2010 off with a real bang. It started with a Best Junior win at the North Star Herding Group Club Specialty on Friday, under judge Helen Lee James. Then to add to the excitement of the weekend, they also won Best Junior at the even larger Land O Lakes All-Breed show, under judge Katie Gammill. A Best Junior win with a Cardigan is not an easy task when competing against juniors with some of the "flashier" breeds - to do it twice in one weekend is something to truly be proud of, made even better by the very nice comments from the judges. Also the fact that this is the show where Mackenzie made her very first venture into the Juniors ring & that 2010 will be her last year as a Junior handler.

Mackenzie has started Boogie on some agility training. He attended his first trial, the NSHGC trial on July 4th, at the Soccer Blast in Burnsville, MN. He showed some great jumping ability, and it really helped Mackenzie pinpoint what areas he was mastering and where he could use some more training.
